About Us
The Augustus Jane Inn has a cozy and relaxing ambiance and strikes a perfect balance between simple home-felt comfort and convenience. Our location is ideal, situated downtown along the ocean in Rocky Harbour, the hub of Gros Morne National Park. Our accommodations are spacious, clean, and provide everything you need to enjoy your stay in Gros Morne National Park. Originally owned and operated by local residents, Otto and Barbara Sparkes From 2018 - 2025, The name was adapted from their late parents and we are proud to allow their names to live on through this endeavour. The Inn was purchased by Jennifer & Chris Lucas in late 2025 - both from the west coast of Newfoundland. We have always dreamed of living in the Gros Morne area - the most beautiful part of Newfoundland! Having lived in Ontario for 24 years before moving back to Newfoundland, we truly appreciate being surrounded by ocean and mountains and the slower lifestyle and outdoor activities this area provides. We are very excited to see this passion project come to fruition and to be able to share our love of the area with all of you. We are more than happy to share any information we can to add to your experience of this beautiful area that we get the pleasure of calling home.

We are situated in prime location on the waterfront in Rocky Harbour where all the local amenities are within walking distance and the view of the unforgettable sunsets are just outside your window. Across the street you can dip your toes in the salt water, enjoy a beach fire and a mussel boil, or just take a relaxing oceanside stroll to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
Gros Morne mountain is visible from our location and the entry point to the climb is about 7.5km away. The local visitor centre is a 5 minute drive where you can obtain all the information you need about Gros Morne National Park. The adjacent town is Norris Point where you can take in boat tours, impeccable views of Bonne Bay, go sea kayaking, and catch a view of the world renowned Tablelands.
